We want to make it easy to license your new software. Below, find some basic information and links to additional support if you need additional direction.

License Types
|
|
Floating License
Floating (or client/server) licenses can allow one or more on non-specific network machines to concurrently access IDL or ENVI. With IDL or ENVI installed and licensed on the server machine, the license manager (installed on the server) handles license requests from remote client machines.

|
Flexible Single-User License
Flexible single-user licenses are permanent licenses tied to a specific single user. You can install a flexible single-user license for up to three machines (Linux, Mac or Windows) for the exclusive use of the designated user.

|
Node Locked License
Node-locked licenses tie a single IDL or ENVI application to a single machine. This method of licensing requires a machine’s unique host ID to be incorporated into a license file.

Basic Licensing Instructions
|
|
Start the License Wizard
- Windows: Click Start > Programs > IDL or ENVI menu item > License Wizard
- Mac: Using the Finder, browse to /Applications/itt/IDL/LicenseWizard.app
- Unix/Linux: Using X11 change directories to /usr/local/itt/idl70/bin/ and run ittlicense.

To Activate your license using the Internet
- Select “Activate a license using the internet”
- Login to the ITT Website (www.ittvis.com)
- Enter your license number
- Click Activate (This will build and activate your new license)
- Click Next in the License Wizard, and your licensed.

To Activate your license if you don’t have Internet Access
- Select “Request a license if you don’t have internet access”
- This opens a new window with the necessary information. Please send an email to support@ittvis.com containing this information.

To Install a license you have received
- If you have received an evaluation license or your activated license in an email, then select “Install a license you have received.”
- For evaluation licenses, select the Evaluation license radio button. And fill out the three corresponding fields.
- For Activated licenses, enter your license information in the window.
