ITT Visual Information Solutions fosters discovery in the academic community by providing tools for data analysis and visualization. Our academic programs give students and educators access to IDL and ENVI through a variety of programs and special pricing opportunities. These discounts allow science and engineering students to develop the skills they need for professional careers.

ITT Visual Information Solutions Academic Program Guidelines

Any accredited undergraduate degree-granting institution is eligible for our Academic Programs when the software is used for teaching purposes. Programs include lab licenses, department licenses, coursework options and student licensing options.

Lab and Department Licenses

ITT Visual Information Solutions is pleased to offer programs for Academic Lab Licenses (25 seats) and Department Licenses (50 seats). Lab and Department Licenses provide faculty and students with cost-effective access to industry standard software in a classroom setting.

Lab and department programs support all operating systems The first year of Software Maintenance (updates and enhancements) is included in the purchase price. Single-node and floating network licenses are available and a complete set of standard documentation is included with each purchase. Academic Coursework Options

ITT Visual Information Solutions offers assistance with developing coursework for academic programs based on IDL or ENVI instruction. From textbook recommendations to full lab examples, ITT Visual Information Solutions is ready to help you get your program up and running.

New IDL Text Book
Academic Press has released an updated text book for IDL, An Introduction to Programming Using Interactive Data Language (IDL) written by IDL instructional expert Kenneth Bowman at Texas A&M University. This classroom-ready text includes a special opportunity for students to buy an IDL student version at a significantly reduced price for use the during the course. If you are interested in using this text for a course, please contact an ITT Educational Representatives.

Program Restrictions: Most ITT Visual Information Solutions Academic Programs require the academic institution purchase the licenses for use on computers that are owned and operated by the institution on its campus. Licenses must be used for curriculum work at the institution. University-affiliated hospitals, observatories, national laboratories, and government funded research organizations that do not grant undergraduate degrees do not qualify for these programs. Please check with your Academic Programs Sales Representative for additional licensing information.
