The IDL Export Bridge Assistant gives IDL users and application developers the ability to access IDL functionality from within Java and COM-based applications. This add-on IDL module adds innovative functionality that allows users to specify the objects, methods and parameters they want to export, and then automatically creates “wrappers” for the specified IDL objects for easy import to the native client application.
The automated tools in the IDL Export Bridge Assistant give developers quick and convenient access to IDL’s superior visualization and analysis capabilities in other software applications and enterprise solutions, without the tedious programming typically required for cross-platform integration.

Seamlessly integrate IDL capabilities into enterprise applications

|
Exporting IDL objects to a COM or Java application is easy with the IDL Export Bridge Assistant Module. Using the IDL Export Bridge Assistant's automated tools, follow these simple steps to export the IDL functionality:
- User selects the IDL object and specifies the destination environment (COM or Java)
- The IDL Export Bridge Assistant extracts property, method and parameter names and automatically populates a tree in the user interface
- User specifies the attributes of items to be exported
- Using the items marked for export, the IDL Export Bridge Assistant automatically generates a wrapper object in the destination environment’s native language
- The new object is ready for use in a Java or COM environment
